These are some Simple SEO Tactics posted by “OpenForSale.com” at dp forums

1. Use keywords for your file names.

2. Avoid automatic submissions to the top search engines

3. Use your keyword in your page title

4. get your page linked from other sites

5. Avoid using Java & frames in your pages

6. Use your keywords 2 – 4 times in the first 250 words of your body text

7. Do not use meta refresh command

8. No text that is the same color as background

9. Use links that contain your keywords.

10. You can use your keyword in the image alt tag.

11. Use your keywords in plural

12. Keep meta tage descrption to less than 25 words

13. Keep meta tag keyword list less than 1000 characters

1. Keyword in Title tag – close to beginning (Niche Keyword research through Keyword tools like Wordtracker, Overture)
Title tag 10 – 60 characters, no special characters
The Florida Update EVEN penalized for this,
as part of the OOP. That was absurd, but effective.
2. Keyword in description meta tag
Shows theme – less than 200 chars.
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)
Google no longer relies upon this tag, but frequently uses it.
3. Keyword in keyword metatag (Listed comma-separated keywords in the keywords meta tag )
Shows theme – less than 10 words.
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)
Every word in this tag MUST appear somewhere in the body.
If not, it will be penalized for irrelevance.
NO single word should appear more than twice.
If not, it is considered spam. Google purportedly no longer values this tag, but others
4. Keyword in H1, H2 and H3
Use H1 font style
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)
5. Keyword density in body text 10% – (all keywords/ total words)
Some report topic sensitivity – the keyword spamming threshold varies with the topic?
6. Individual keyword density  1 – 6% – (each keyword/ total words)
7. Keyword font size
In strong, bold, italic, etc.
8. Keyword proximity (for 2+ keywords)
9. Adjacent is best
10. Keyword phrase order
11. Keyword prominence (how early in page/tag)
Most important at top of page, in bold, in large font
12. Developed keyword rich body text. At least 250 words
13. Added descriptive ALT text to all images. Specified image height and width for all images. Used descriptive text and keywords within all hyperlinks
14. Provided static HTML links to all pages on your website
15. Placed keyword-rich copy in the top half of your page
16. Used bold font and italics to format important text
17. Minimised amount of code on the page – stored JavaScript in an external file
18. Ensured that your pages are easy to read, to find and to navigate
19. Used keywords in your URL, subdomains and file names
20. Drafted a link development plan
21. Keyword Stemming, stem your keywords. Use singular, plural, past forms, etc.
22. Keyword Semantics — Make use of synonyms and don’t spam your site with one and the same keyword.
23. Google/Yahoo Sitemap Submission.

24. Checking Broken Links and W3C validation (Validation Every site should validate, or get as near to it as is feasible)

25. Internal Linking ( Linking other pages of our website through particular targeted keywords for easy navigation and letting spiders to crawl)
